Good and Bad The only time I take Flexeril is when I am at a pain level of 10+ and my muscles are so knotted that I can no longer tolerate the flare. Flexeril puts me to sleep, thus helping to unwind my tight muscles. HOWEVER, it makes me VERY sleepy and EXTREMELY bloated and hung over the next day. I really loathe having to take it but when I’m really down, I appreciate its effects.

Extremely tired the next day and unable to think clearly. Very bad dry mouth and did nothing for pain. Taken for muscle tightness in right leg due to severe stenosis in the lumbar spine. Usually take at bedtime a half pill, or whole pill after hard physical work. It lets me sleep but does not make me drowsy and there are no hangover effects in the morning.

I was able to do this as long as I took the medication right before I went to bed each night but my problem with this drug is that you wake up still sleepy and groggy. Personally, I can’t stand walking around in the ozone and not thinking clearly. Ironically, I was always against any type of drug all of my life and now I find myself in a position where I cannot move in the morning unless I have a narcotic in my system. This drug just doesn’t do it for me.  Now the doctor is trying injections to help with swelling and inflammation. Flexeril Works I’ve been taking flexeril since I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2000. I originally took 1 at bedtime, now I’m up to 3 at bedtime !
